ABOUT
Hello,
I am Manon Souchet, a french designer.
After a double major in Sciences and Design (at the ENSCI-Les Ateliers and UPMC), and a Bachelor's degree in Biology (at UPMC), I have now completed a Master's degree in design of the Commons (at ESAD d'Orléans). I am also part of a research program entitled Object, Craft, and Computation, where I am going to continue as a student-searcher.
Ever since I was a child, I have always kept in mind my passions for scientific knowledge and creation. I have been extremely fascinated by this combination, and by discovering Design, which offers a unique cross-disciplinary perspective. For me, one cannot go without the other.
As I had to work with different partners, this double major also gave me an open-mindedness and great perseverance (or sometimes patience, as I twice had to face the French higher education’s administration).
Interdisciplinary also means working with people from -sometimes extremely- completely different backgrounds. This is for me what makes a project better because a team with several points of view enables you to go deeper and further in the thinking and creation processes.
After stepping back from my projects, three main themes are arising: Sensibility, Mobility and Re-sources.
-
Sensibility: through a user-centered experience of colors and materials, or interactive devices;
-
Mobility: by questioning flexibility, and vernacular mobility;
-
Re-sources: through the research of new materials, sustainable, durable, and high-quality.
