For this project, I had to rethink an acoustic instrument.
To take the opposing view of the northern austerity
of the project, and with the idea of making others discover
my culture, I decided to work on the Binioù.
In order to respect the values that motivate me, I decided
to make my instrument entirely out of paper. Why paper?
It’s a low-tech approach that echoes eco-design.
So I looked for a paper structure that could be folded
and unfolded endlessly, around origami techniques. The flutes are also made of paper. Finally, in order to use paper
as a graphic medium, I then experimented with different volume settings. And ... the model is functional.

Pour ce projet, il était demandé de repenser un instrument acoustique. Pour prendre le contre-pied de l’austérité nordique du projet, et dans l’idée de faire découvrir ma culture
aux autres, j’ai décidé de travailler le Binioù.
Dans un souci de respect des valeurs qui m’animent,
j’ai décidé de fabriquer mon instrument entièrement en papier. Pourquoi le papier ? C’est une approche low-tech faisant écho à l’écoconception.
J’ai donc cherché une structure en papier qui puisse être pliée et dépliée à l’infini, autour des techniques d’origami. Les flûtes sont aussi faites en papier. Enfin, dans le but d’utiliser le papier comme support graphique, j’ai ensuite expérimenté différentes mises en volume. Et ... le modèle est fonctionnel.
